Good news everyone: we finally got into the studio to record our new music! A lot of you have been asking for a while about when we are going to release a new album and we appreciate your patience. Last month, we recorded 6 songs in Los Angeles with our good friend, Evan Rodaniche. We are planning to go back in two weeks to record 4 more songs and finish up the album. Hoping to release our first single in the coming months. Stay Tuned, but for now, if you sign up for the mailing list, we will send you a private video with a preview of a new song.
Hey Everyone, Josh Sturm here. It felt like the book was never going to be released, but finally it’s here! Lacey and I just wanted to thank each of you who purchased The Reason for yourself or a friend. It’s been so amazing to read your tweets and comments about how the book has impacted you. Thank you for your encouragement and stories, it’s very refreshing, so please keep sending them to us. If you haven’t purchased the book, it’s available online HERE or in stores where books are sold.
Many of you have been asking about a new cd from Lacey. We are waiting for our label to make some decisions before we are allowed to record an album, so in the meantime we are playing shows and uploading footage to YouTube so you can hear what we are working on. Here are a few videos here:
Wednesday, August 27, 2014 – Lots of Announcements
Exciting things are on the way! We are getting closer to releasing The Reason, How I Discovered a Life Worth Living. You can preorder the book at the links below or buy it in stores on October 7th. The calendar was just updated with some upcoming shows including a show at Bloomsburg University with Switchfoot. We are also doing two more festivals with Franklin Graham in Erie and Toronto next month. Hope to see everyone there.
Congrats to We As Human for breaking the top 10 at Rock Radio this week with their single Take the Bullets Away. Lacey finally had a chance to sing it live with them at the Festival of Hope in Pittsburgh, PA. Check it out:
I have gotten to meet so many of you. I’ve read thousands of your emails. I’ve learned courage and thankfulness because of your stories. Our stories can be powerful weapons against all that tries to steal the lives of those around us. So many of you have shared your history of persevering, hope, miracles and overcoming. When I look back on The Reason why I am still alive, I find overwhelming examples of miraculous victory too. I hope that in reading this book you will encounter your own miracles, adding to the glorious story that you have to share as well. ❤Lacey

These are the three videos I got to be a part of for Billy Graham’s “My Hope America” Program. Two of the videos are about my story of being rescued from suicide and the music video is for a song that Michael Neale and Krissy Nordhoff wrote. My husband Josh produced this version of the song and we got to record it with a lot of our close friends. It was such an honor to be part of this program and I hope you are blessed by it as well. ❤Lacey
Here is a short video talking about the RESET tour I will be doing in September. ❤Lacey
At last, the song I did with We As Human has finally been released. You can preview the entire album HERE. Don’t forgot to pick their album up on iTunes when it comes out. ❤Lacey
Last week we went to Nashville to record a studio version of The Reason for the “My Hope” album honoring Billy Graham. We are hoping to make a few short videos of this process as well as keeping you updated on my book which will also be called The Reason. Stay tuned for more videos! ❤Lacey
Here is a cover that we did of “The Forgiven” by David Ramirez. I heard it for the first time three days ago when a friend sent it to me. The lyrics are brilliant in the way lyrics can be when the more you think of them, the more they mean to you. Josh and I had a lot of fun making this video while Jack was taking his nap. ❤Lacey
Two more videos from the show we did for the troops. Enjoy! ❤Lacey
Here’s a new cover of John Mark McMillan’s “How He Loves” for a private event that I did with my husband and two of our friends from Pittsburgh ❤Lacey
Four years ago, I got to sing on Third Day’s record, “Revelation.” The song “Born Again” was nominated for two Grammy’s that year and won one of them. The song meant a lot to me then when I was getting married and still feels really significant now as I’m about to have my second baby. This was the first time since we recorded the song that we were able to perform it live. Mac and the guys are always a joy to hang out with—even when Jack is trying to steal Mac’s iPhone ❤Lacey
Here is a video answering the questions I’ve gotten about screaming. Thanks for all your questions and your sweet patience for me and how long it takes me to reply. It is just me answering questions here and I tend to take alot of time on certain ones. But at least I feel like I get to spend time with you this way, even if it is reading your life stories and then telling you mine
Hope you like the video! I had alot of fun answering this one! ❤Lacey
Thanks for visiting the site. We are still working on everything. Please look around and let us know if there is anything different you’d like to see. One of my favorite sections is the Q&A. The main purpose for launching the site is to stay in touch with you. I love your stories and your hearts. Getting to connect with you has always been one the most important parts to me about playing music. I’d like to post some videos of new music, but for now, I’ll just be posting videos of covers, answers and video blogs. I am in the process of writing a book about some lessons I’ve learned up to this point in my life. I hope to release a cd at the same time with new original songs that correspond to the chapters in the book. I am so excited about this! Flyleaf is also continuing to do other stuff, but if you want to know what is up with Flyleaf you will have to check in with them at: www.FlyleafMusic.com . My statement about leaving Flyleaf is HERE. I’d love to keep in contact with you, so please leave me a message, and I’ll try and write you soon with updates about what I’m doing. Thanks again for stopping by. I can’t wait to hear from you!
